Trim Your Tree With Our Adult Holiday Spirit Drink Recipe

Decorating for the holidays is filled with family and joy, but it can be hectic! That's why I've got you covered with a super simple adult drink recipe that literally tastes like Christmas in a cup!

My family and I had gone to the Christmas tree farm, gotten all the decorations out of the attic, and set out on a marathon day of decorating the inside and outside of our house.  Let's just say that the Christmas songs were a nice break from Blippi's "Excavator Song" that my son pretty much listens to on loop.

I don't know about you, but my absolute favorite part of decorating is putting the ornaments on the tree.  I absolutely treasure some of the ornaments that are decades old, given to me as I was growing up each Christmas.  Each ornament is a little memory - a window back into years of vacations, gifts, and special events.  It's fun to recount the stories of all those trips - you know, the ones that didn't go quite as planned!?

If your tree is looking a little sparse or if you need a keepsake to commemorate this year, check out our collection of handmade personalized ornaments.  You can send one of our ornaments, like the Reindeer Children's Christmas Ornament shown to the left, straight to the recipient as it comes ready to gift in a beautiful silver gift box.  Opt to add a personalized gift message from you on the back of the ornament, and it is truly a gift or stocking stuffer they will treasure year after year.

As much fun as recounting family history can be, my 2-year-old has more energy than I'll ever understand, so after the last ornament was hung on the tree and my toddler was tucked in for the night, I wanted to make a drink to unwind.  BUT, I absolutely did NOT want to go to the store to get anything.

Thus, the super simple Holiday Spirit recipe was born.  Because who wants to be searching for ingredients after a long day of searching for a strand of lights that isn't dead?

RECIPE FOR THE HOLIDAY SPIRIT:

-Grab your favorite coffee mug and put your favorite hot chocolate in it.  Really in a pinch?  You can also use juice box chocolate milk like I did #momlife

-Grab a shot of peppermint schnapps (or make it a double if it's been a long day - we've all had those) and add it to the mug.

-Heat for 1 minute in the microwave.

-Top with whipped cream and dust with cocoa powder.

-If you are loving the peppermint and have a candy cane laying around, feel free to add that in the drink for an extra burst of peppermint flavor.

I hope you enjoy unwinding with this delicious drink over a Christmas movie just like I did :)  Don't forget to check out our entire collection of Christmas ornaments to check everyone off your nice list this year!
